Terms and Conditions

These are the standard terms of business of Focus4 Training Ltd. If you would like to clarify any aspect or you do not have the authority to agree to terms, please contact us.

All bookings with Focus4 Training are subject to these terms of business unless otherwise agreed with the company.

Payment
Course fees will have VAT added at the current rate.
Once confirmation is received, we will issue you with an invoice.
Payments must be made in full at least ten working days before the start of the course or 30 days after the invoice date (whichever comes first). Payments can be received via cheque, BACS or credit card. Please make cheques payable to Focus4 Training Limited.
Our payment terms must be agreed by your accounts department

Cancellation and Transfer
If cancellation takes place within 10 working days of the course start date, no refund can be made. No charge will be made for delegate name change, providing the course and the date remain the same.

Copyright and Warranty
Copyright and intellectual property rights for all course material shall remain the property of Focus4 Training Limited. The customer agrees not to reproduce, sell or hire course materials and not to use such materials except for the purpose of course reference.

UK Orders
All prices quoted are in GBP UK Pounds Sterling (£) and exclude VAT at 17.5%. UK Delivery is from £2.50 per CD Course and £5.00 for manual based courses. Orders are normally shipped via Royal First Class Delivery.

International Orders
All prices quoted are in GBP UK Pounds Sterling (£). International delivery is by DHL and costs £14.50. Customers outside the UK will not be charged VAT.

DELIVERY
Subject to your order being authorised and barring system failure, we will despatch all orders where possible received up to 12 noon the same day.

Delivery within the UK
The standard delivery method in the UK is by Royal Mail Special Delivery or Recorded First Class and normally takes 1 - 3 days.

International Shipping
Once your order leaves our warehouse, shipping times typically range from 2 to 3 working days, depending on the destination. Standard Delivery outside the UK is by DHL and costs £14.50 (GBP UK Pounds Sterling). Please note that custom duties may apply.

PAYMENT OPTIONS
You can place an order on-line securely. We take every possible precaution to protect the integrity of your credit card information. All transactions are processed by Secpay via their Secure Server which encrypts any information you type in. Secpay's secure server software (SSL) is the industry standard and among the best available today for secure e-commerce transactions.

REFUNDS & EXCHANGES
At Focus4 Training Ltd, we are passionately committed to your satisfaction. We believe that these are the top training products on the market today. They are used by 1000's of individuals for self-paced study at home or work, as well as corporate training resources for Universities, Colleges, Schools, Corporations and Government Departments both in the UK and worldwide.

If you are dissatisfied with your purchase in any way, we will gladly give you a full refund of your purchase price (less shipping costs), as long as less than 30% of any course has been opened. If you are purchasing only one DVD or CD, you may open it for your risk free evaluation.

If you are not 100% satisfied with the purchase, simply call our friendly sales staff at +44 (0) 1455 550622 to obtain a RMA# (Return Merchandise Authorization Number) and then return the product back within 30 days of the invoice date. The RMA# is required for us to track your return and properly credit your account. For this reason, the shipping department does not accept packages that do not have an RMA#. All disks, videos, registration cards, boxes, and packaging materials must be included and in like-new condition. Your return must be received by Focus4 Training Ltd within 30 days of the Focus4 Training Ltd invoice date. Focus4 Training Ltd reserves the right to refuse damaged or incomplete returns, or returns where the order is more than 30 days old, or returns where more than 30% of any course or product has been opened or viewed.

Please put the original packing slip in the carton, and wrap the package securely so that no damage will occur during transportation. For your protection, please use Insured/Recorded Parcel Post when sending courses back so that you have a receipt for the shipment.

Please note that overseas shipping costs are not refundable.

What is Computer Based Training (CBT)?
Computer Based Training (CBT) or Technology Based Training (TBT), is a system for training students on a one to one basis using interactive software run on a multimedia computer. The student follows the course in a logical, structured progression, being tested at regular intervals to assess development. Retention using CBT is between 25% and 60% above traditional classroom methods. Learning speed is typically 60% faster using multi media computer based training than that achieved in the classroom. Students learn at their own pace whenever they want, without the need to attend classes. Critical messages are consistent from learner to learner and not dependent on retaining the same tutors, or varying levels of teaching ability, or indeed something as intangible as a change of mood! Expensive overheads can be avoided (such as travel, overnight stays, classrooms, salary costs). How long does a course take to complete?
A single course on CD-ROM usually contains about 8 hours of content. Allowing for testing, review, and revision, students could expect to complete this in around 10 to 12 hours. Because of the density of information contained in a course it would be unwise to expect to absorb it all in one session! Usually a week would be a comfortable target to set. Remember - Certification Bundles contain more than one course!

Will I get a qualification when I have completed the course?
All our courses carry the approval of the relevant software publisher. Many of the courses are also approved certification curriculum study material, and will give you all you need to know to pass specific certification exams. These exams are taken with examination bodies that are independent of CareerVision and the exam fees are not included in the price of the courses.

What is VAT?
VAT or Value Added Tax, applies only to purchasers located in the UK. VAT is not charged to purchasers from countries outside the UK.

Will I need to have a copy of the software I am studying to be able to use the course?
If you are using a course on CD-ROM or DVD the answer is no. Many of our CD-ROM courses are interactive, allowing the student to work and be tested using a simulation of the environment of the software they are studying. If the course is on video then the student will need access to a PC running the software they are studying to get the most from the course. In either case it is a good idea to get hands-on experience of the "live" software.

Will I need to get any other material to use the course?
All courses are intended to be "stand alone" in as much as they contain all the information required to achieve the level of competence or certification required after completion. However some students prefer to also have an appropriate book or study guide to accompany their studies. Some of our Certification Bundles come with such study guides.
